Nesto is a new veterinarian network that supports specialists across the country. We created the name, the tagline and an identity built around a curvy line that refers to a heartbeat on a surgeon's monitor.
The story behind the work
What was the challenge?
We love our pets. We treasure their company and friendship, and we are increasingly willing to pay for quality care to cure and treat them. Our pets have become as precious as any other family member. When they need medical attention or surgery, we want to be reassured they are in good hands. Nesto is a new veterinarian network that supports specialists across the country to excel in their field of expertise. Its objectives surpass the Belgian market: Nesto wants to become the authority in specialized pet care and offers a completely new service locally. Nesto is a network of expert veterinarians, so the logo had to work well in combination with another name.
What choices did we make?
Nesto is Esperanto for nest. The name references the animal aspect whatever your native language, which suits a network with ambitions beyond Belgium. The tagline "Together for the best care" communicates the mission. Because the service is new, we added the descriptor "Expert network for pets" in the first phase only. The logo is an organic, curvy line. It refers to the pulse of a heartbeat on a surgeon's monitor and connects two elements in a vibrant partnership. The curves of the Akkurat typeface reinforce the design and round off the look-and-feel. The complementary colour is 'surgeon green'. It underlines Nesto's dedication to education and training, which keeps improving the skills and expertise in the network, and it evokes positivity.
What did we create?
The visual concept is a solid foundation for playful applications in various media. In print, the wave forms a characteristic and dynamic container for body copy. On computer and smartphone screens, it transforms into adorable icons of various pets. We also see our own version of the popular 'Snake' game, perfect for passing the time in the waiting room. Every practice of the network offers top quality care. The playful design leaves space for some frolicking in a field of serious expertise.
